Carmen Guzman Lombert
Survivor Leader and Advocate
Carmen Elizabeth Guzman Lombert is an artist and advocate working in the fields of domestic violence (DV), affordable housing and food justice. She was a member of the Survivor Leadership Coalition at Sanctuary for Families for 16 years where, as co-chair of the Wellness Committee, collaborated on two pilot projects for trauma-informed training initiatives.

She is a member of the Move to Move Beyond Storytellers at Gibney where, in cooperation with the company, she uses movement and storytelling to educate on DV. She participated in “9-“ a multi-media drama therapy project with NYU’s Steinhardt School of School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

Carmen is a long-time community organizer and advocate who is a member of the Steering Committee of the West Side Neighborhood Alliance and the Stop Croman Coalition, where she advocates for affordable housing in New York State. She is a former Deacon and Recording Secretary of the Women’s Association of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church (FAPC) where she taught English as a Second Language, and chaired a booth at the annual bazaar. She also represented FAPC as a captain for Church World Service’s annual march for food justice.
